WHAT ARE POLICING &

COMMUNITY SAFETY

PARTNERSHIPS?

The Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) were
established in April 2012 as new statutory bodies as an
enactment of The Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.
PCSP’s are facilitated by local Council’s and overseen
regionally by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the
Northern Ireland Policing Board (NIPB).

Representatives on your local PCSP will include;
• Elected Members (Councillors)
• Independent Members (Community representatives)
• Designated Members – compromising of;
Police (PSNI), NI Housing Executive (NIHE) , NI Fire & Rescue
Service (NIFRS), Education & Library Board (ELB), Youth
Justice Agency (YJA), Probation Board NI (PBNI) & Health Trust.
