In the Triples Quarter finals, Arne Jaffe, Joan Northcott & Gill Owen recorded a 9 - 6 win over
Rene Morgan, Gerry Williams & Mike Davis. At one stage Frank Clark, Bert & Diane Butterfield
led 8 - 4 with two ends to play but a four and then a single gave Anthea Bll, Joan Carbin &
Gordon Lucas a 9 - 8 victory. Romping home 12 - 6 from 3 - 6 down, Arthur Birch, Jim & Ann
Dahinton beat Cynthia Riley, Marion & Dennis Greenwell, whilst John Horsham, Pam Avery
& Geoff Cleave scored an 11 - 3 win over Brian Eastgate, Shirley & Garth Willis.
In the Semi-finals, John, Pam & Geoff beat Arthur Birch, Jim & Ann Dahinton by 9 shots
to 3. In the other Semi-final a similar 9 - 2 scoreline by Arne Jaffe, Joan Northcott & Gill Owen
eased them into the final over Anthea Bll, Joan Carbin & Gordon Lucas. Arne, Joan & Gill
then seemed to be romping to victory as they took a 9 - 3 lead over John Horsham, Pam Avery
& Geoff Cleave but eleven shots over the closing four end gave John, Pam & Geoff a clear
14 - 9 win.

me. A new
shirt this year but I learned one valu-
able lesson, if you have white hair don’t
stand directly under a light when hav-
ing your picture taken.
And yes, that is Yvonne in the
background, probably texting after din-
ner and before we all go into the Or-
chid Room for our General Knowledge
Quiz, along with the 8 boxes of choco-
lates to hand out as spot prizes and for
the first three teams at the end of the
evening.
I managed to put together all
new questions this year and it was a
night of competitive fun, with a laugh!
