IIBA LADIES ZONE FINAL - Donegal v Armagh
Following last season's final when Donegal upset the form book with a comfortable win over
Armagh much was expected of this season's rematch. Donegal had lost 3 of last year's team
while Armagh were much more settled. Donegal entered the game hoping to repeat the previ-
ous performance but as so often happens it was not to be.
After four ends of the first half, Donegal were looking at a 14 shot deficit, and, with some
players clearly out of form it was going to be a difficult road back against an Armagh team per-
forming much better that 12 months ago. The deficit went as far as 17 shots, but seven shots
over the 10th ends to reduce the deficit to 10 shots gave the second half players some hope.
On mat 1, Margaret Montgomery were under pressure as the Cassell’s rink shot into a 9 shot
lead after 4 ends.
