4 Boule Anglais en France
During the past 4 years I have established one short-mat club
and assisted others who wished to establish themselves in
the Limousin region of France. I have attempted to contact
Ms Patricia Jones, the person who is listed as representing
France but without success over that 4 year period.
I realise that many ex-pat British people return to UK
and wonder if you are able to confirm whether Ms Jones is
still involved? Whilst France has not previously been drawn
into 'boule Anglais', we still have a few French citizens as members of our club and I actively
encourage the other local clubs to become pro-active in this sense.
Clubs are also becoming more interested in competition bowling and whilst I am cur-
rently the only bowler who returns to the UK to compete, I would like to be in a position to
formally encourage other bowlers from all French clubs to do the same. In the event of Ms
Jones being no longer in a position to represent French clubs, I would like to explore the
possibility of becoming responsible myself.
Roger Hammond
Ed - as you can read from the above, this was an email from Roger Hammond. As Patricia
seems to be no longer involved and not in contact. Working on the principle that one vol-
unteer is worth 10 pressed men. I am therefore swapping the contact details to:-
Mr R. Hammond, 4 Impasse du Caillaudou, Champagnac la Riviere 87150, France.

Limousin is just below the centre of France. It has an Area: 16,940 km² (6,541 sq miles), a
Population: 741,000 (2013) and the Capital is the City of Limoges, which is 420 miles South
of Calais and 401 miles from Roscoff a shorter distance but apparently a longer time than
Calais. It is served by a number of hotels and an airport.
Limousin is a former administrative region of France. Since 1 January 2016, it is part
of the new region Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes. It is composed of three depart-
ments: Corrèze, Creuse and Haute-Vienne.
