The 5 day Short Mat Holiday started with a Fun “get
to know you” Bowls Drive, where all the players are
jumbled up and mixed with other players. On the
evening the top dogs were Kath Downs, Rosemary
King, Alan Riley & Evan Williams, who rattled up a 25
- 4 scoreline over their three games for a winning shots
plus of 21 and a box of chocolates each.

proved to be too
strong for Mary Wyatt, winning 8 - 1 with two ends un-
played. The other semi was a cracker of a match. With two
ends to go Christine Williams led 6 - 4 but a single and a
two gave Julian Bradbury a narrow 7 - 6 win.
The final was equally close in the end. From 3 across
Julian scored four shots over three ends to lead 6 - 3. Brian
Latham fought back but just failed by one shot to leave Ju-
lian as the Champion by 6 shots to 5. Seated Pairs Champions
