This pairs competition is held for players
who did not either represent Devon in the
Inter County Championships or win a
County title in the previous season.
As usual it was an early start with
teams being drawn into groups of four for
a round robin with the winners and run-
ners up going into a main knock out draw
whilst the third and fourth place teams in
the groups go into a plate competition
guaranteeing players at least 4 games.
After several knock out rounds in
the Plate competition the final was be-
tween a Wick pairing skipped by Sharron
Simmons and the Colebrook pairing
skipped by Jenni Pitts.
Margaret Elliot Pairs Winners It was a tight affair with the Wick
Tony & George Main with organiser pairing coming through 8-7. In the main
knockouts the final was between Yarn-
Caroline Pavey
scombe’s Tony and George Main and Ex-
eter Nomads Barrie Goodchild and Richard Williams. Yarnscombe had beaten the Winkleigh
pairing skipped by John Horsham 11-3. Whilst the Exeter Nomads pair beat Geoff and Sue
Cleave 9-6. In the final the Yarnscombe pair were able to maintain their form and won 13-8.
