They spent many happy years together on the green and between then amassed a cabinet 11
full of trophies. In 2007 Andrew moved to Pembroke Dock to be closer to their youngest
son Norman. 2008 saw Andrew joined the St John’s SMBC but also saw the passing of An-
drew’s dear wife Jean. Andrew continued to attend the bowling club and in 2009 Norman also
joined the club. In 2012 Norman’s youngest daughter Samantha obtained membership making
three generations actively involved in League bowling.

Fours Tournament
Kewstoke S.M.B.C. held their An-
nual Fours Tournament at the Vil-
lage Hall with 16 teams competing
from Somerset, Devon, Dorset,
North Bristol and Herefordshire.
The competition was hotly
contested with two of the teams
Highbridge and Evercreech win-
ning all their round robin games.
The first semi-final was dis-
HIGHBRIDGE appointing for Baltonsborough as

TOURNAMENT WINNERS half way through the game they let
Highbridge take six shots which
turned the game around with Highbridge then winning with sixteen shots to Baltonsborough’s
six shots.
However the other semi-final between Llangarron and Evercreech was a much closer
game and after eight ends they were
drawing with five shots each. Ever-
creech took the next end with one shot
but on the final end Llangarron took two
shots winning by 7 shots to 6.
We saw some excellent bowling in
the final between Llangarron and High-
bridge. The first seven ends saw High-
bridge leading with 8 shots to 4 but
Llangarron fought back and after nine
ends it was 8 all.
The last end was so close the very

win 9 shots to 8 over Llangarron..
During the day we held a Raffle, and with a donation from the Village Hall also another
bowling club we raised £400 to send to The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.
A big thank you to the club members that worked very hard for several hours making nearly
sixty lunches and serving tea/coffee and homemade cakes plus all the washing up! A very
successful day.
