of Yan Gaoqin and his brother Yan
Zhenqing (Yan Cheng Ching) can
trace its origin to the old homestead
in Shantung province.
In the same dynasty, Yan
Gaoqin (Yan Kaoching), 40th
descendant of Yan Hui, rose to
oppose the rebellion led by An
Lushang who was his superior and
had just promoted him before the
rebellion. When An Lushan captured
him, he refused to be bought over
and said, "My loyalty lies with the
country and I would fight anyone
who revolts against the emperor." An
killed him on the spot.
Yan Zhenqing was unmolested
during the An uprising and Chinese
calligraphy will surely know of his
fame in his art form.
