             influencing societal dynamics.

             B. Framing, agenda-setting, and their impact on public
                opinion

                1. Framing and Agenda-Setting:
Framing refers to the way information is presented,
emphasizing certain aspects while downplaying others. It is
a form of gatekeeping and involves the construction of
predominant labels to shape public discourse about an
                    issue 13.

Agenda-setting theory suggests that the media has the
power to influence public opinion by deciding which topics
to cover and how to frame them. This process involves
selecting certain topics as news stories and giving them
prominence, while neglecting or downplaying others,
ultimately shaping public awareness and concern about
                    salient issues 14.

                2. Impact on Public Opinion:
Media Influence: The media has a significant influence on
public opinion through framing and agenda-setting. The
way issues are presented and the prominence given to them
can shape public awareness and concern about specific
                    topics 15.

Persuasion and Perception: Framing and agenda-setting
can influence public perception by emphasizing certain
aspects of an issue, thereby shaping how the public
understands and responds to it. This can impact public
                    opinion and policy-making processes 16.

shape public opinion, limit information access, and restrict
