BOOKS:A LOST STORY

Advancement of anything brings changes. They are either good or bad. In today’s era, advancement has occupied a
lot of space in our life. It seems that the possibility of life only exist when advancement is there. Advancement in
Science, development of technologies are touching sky. Various kinds of inventions are being made. Every minute
something new is taking place .This age can be considered as the golden era of development. But doesn’t
advancement decrease the value of something precious we have? Doesn’t it make us careless about the incredible
beauty that we have in our society? Yes, it does. We in today’s life only think of advancement and technologies. Do we
think of the precious things that we have or actually had? No.
In today’s time, almost everyone has a smart phone with superfast internet connection. They have a lot of things to do
on it .There are number of social media platform to communicate with each other. People don’t have time to read
books and magazines. Even people find it difficult to take out some time from their busy schedule to read newspapers.
Nowadays, we have e-newspapers i.e. we can know about the recent happenings in the world on our smart phones.
We are also provided with e-books. We can read several numbers of books on our smart phones. It saves our time,
doesn’t it? Yes, it does.
But all these advancements like social media-platforms such as Facebook. Instagram ,Snapchat and e-books , have
decreased the value of real books. People prefer utilizing their time on internet, rather they should read different books
of different genres and gain knowledge. Technology has overcome the value of books. Although world with the help of
advancement has achieved so many things but advancements and technologies are deteriorating the value of
precious things around us. Haven’t we heard? ”Old is gold”. The fun, the excitement that one can feel while reading a
book is beyond imagination and there is no comparison between books and social media platforms. While reading a
book we come to know about so many things, different kinds of stories, our mind starts becoming creative, we our self
start writing stories but we waste time on internet, we only and only harm ourselves. There should be addiction of
books, not of using internet, social media etc.
At last, we can conclude that if advancement brings good changes, it has bad effects too. Advancement has
overcome the value of precious things around us .But, we as humans can save those resources. It is our duty to
maintain our culture and tradition. It is our duty to utilise our time in good things instead of useless things. It is our duty
to encourage, motivate everyone to preserve the evergreen beauty that we have in our surroundings. The books have
now become like a lost story as less people spend their time on books. So, let us not waste out time over internet and
use our time in reading books, gaining information etc.
