Intentionally or recklessly damaging or destroying property belonging to another
individual or the LSBA.
Expressing a threat, wish or intent to harm another individual or communicating
such a threat via a written, electronic or visual medium.
Initiating a physical altercation or inflicting bodily harm.
Repeatedly following or stalking another individual.
Selling, possessing on one’s body, brandishing, using a weapon, or threatening
or potentially threatening another person while on LSBA property or while
engaged in LSBA business with a weapon. Under no circumstances may
firearms or weapons be stored in LSBA offices, LSBA desks, in LSBA
workstations and/or worksites.
Talking or joking about violence will also not be tolerated.
You are required to immediately report to your supervisor or the Executive Director any conduct
which violates this policy and/or any conduct which may affect the LSBA’s ability to maintain a safe
work environment.
Confidentiality will be maintained throughout the investigatory process to the extent practicable and
appropriate under the circumstances and consistent with a thorough investigation.
All individuals who violate this policy will be subject to discipline, including termination, criminal
penalties or both.
All good faith claims of workplace violence are encouraged and required; however, false accusations
will not be tolerated. If an investigation results in a finding that a false accusation of workplace
violence was maliciously or recklessly made, the complainant will be disciplined appropriately, up to
and including termination.
Complaints involving allegations of workplace violence will be handled in accordance with the
LSBA’s Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation Policy.
1.8 SAFETY FIRST
It is imperative that each Employee observe the safety regulations imposed by state or federal agencies
and the LSBA. It is each Employee’s duty to promptly report any unsafe condition he/she has
reasonable cause to believe exists at an LSBA worksite. All Employees are required to adhere to
reasonable safety standards. Any questions or concerns regarding a potential workplace safety issue
should be promptly reported to the Executive Director.
1.9 PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND ETHICAL STANDARDS
The LSBA expects all Employees, contractors, vendors, and volunteers to adhere to the highest
standards of professional conduct, integrity, credibility and business ethics when performing their job
duties or business on behalf of the LSBA, whether on or off LSBA premises. This ensures that the
work environment is safe, comfortable and productive. Employees, contractors, vendors and
