              To the Members of the Board of the Louisiana Bar Association:


                     Judge Tony Marabella has been a prosecutor, a public defender, a private criminal
              defense lawyer, a judge, a professor of criminal law practice, and, now, a member of the
              Louisiana Parole   When it comes to the administration of justice, he has done it all  All
              along the way he has mentored dozens of young lawyers who use his teachings and materials as

              gospel  For a span including five decades, this sta  and especially Baton Rouge, have been the

              beneficiaries of his passion, dedication and compassion.
                     While in his private practice he served as President of the Louisiana Association of

              Criminal Defense Lawyers. He was also president of the Baton Rouge Bar A  Each
              term resulted in highlighting the need for those in th  criminal law arena to "up   game." As

              a judge he demanded excel  He was very active in the State and National Judiciary, serving
              on a multitude of committees and ultimately on the Judiciary Commission for several years.

                     During the seventies and eighties, Judge Marabella was called "A New Breed of Criminal
              Defense" by the Business Report of Baton R  A title well deserved based upon his many
              unexpected victories in an atmosphere that was so favorable toward the gove  He was
             one of only a handful in Baton Rouge that managed a practice almost exclusively in criminal
              defe  It was a time that saw jury selection become the way to win cases and nothing was
             spared to pick the best twelve.

                     Tony Marabella has said that he was not as smart as others but made   for  it with his
             work   His work ethic remains second to non  And, anyone who had the benefit of
             watching him cross examine a witness, or make a closing argument, realized they were observing
              brilliance hidden behind his humble and intimate pers  The man can talk to anyone and
