PAC (Paint Alternative Competition)
As many of us know if you compete in APHA classes you earn points based on your placings in these classes. BUT, APHA classes are not always readily available therefore APHA has developed an ‘alternative’ credit earning system for your registered paint horse so as to recognize your efforts outside of those APHA classes.
You can earn credits based on your placings in non-APHA sanctioned classes such as unaffiliated all breed classes which are held by venues like Sovereign Quarter Horses at their all breed shows, Oakridge Arenas Sherwood shows all breed classes, Garden of England unaffiliated classes at Bodium and of course WES shows. PAC is open to almost any type of activity/show as long as the competition is sponsored by an organization that keeps official records, for up to one year, on the performance of all horses entered in the event and normally PAC like if the judge is authorized by a recognizable authority (such as AQHA, APHA, NRHA etc.) so as to ensure that correct standards are being judged in whatever your chosen discipline is.
Activities can be all the main stream western classes but also show-jumping, dressage, driving, endurance and the list goes on. Go to http://apha.com/programs/pac/ for more information.
