 PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“For those who find me find life and receive favour from the Lord.” Proverbs 8:35
TO GOD: Father, thank you for the wonderful invitation to pray with thanksgiving. Please forgive us when we forget to be grateful.
FOR THE CHURCH: Heavenly Father, Jesus reminded us that your “house is to be called a house of prayer” (Matthew 21:13). In these last days, may it return to its highest calling: prayer.
FOR THE WORLD: The world is yours (Psalm 24:1). Your son is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). We are your people. Lord, please teach us to pray (Luke 11:1).
FOR OUR NATION: Anxiety is so prevalent, even (and especially) among the youth of our nation. May the church and mental health services be available and equipped to meet this ever-increasing need.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, may our lives be ‘living epistles’ (2 Corinthians 3:2), causing us to be peacemakers, not peace- breakers!
FOR MYSELF: Father, forgive me when I refuse your yoke and decline to walk with Jesus. Today, I choose to take Jesus’ light yoke with thanksgiving (Matthew 11:30). Amen.
  PRAYER
Holy Spirit, please touch the minds of those struggling with sadness, loneliness or anxiety.
AMEN.
