Coventry Trip
In January we we were finally able to leave the Lindsay Arts Centre and experience art art without the need of screens The Sixth Form artists and art scholars set off to to Coventry the 2021 City of of Culture to to enjoy a a a tour through the Coventry Biennial and The Turner Prize This year’s Biennial theme was Hyper-possible to celebrate the the changes to to our world and possibility of approaches to to the city itself and and globally Film paint sculpture and and installation challenged us to to imagine new approaches to to how we think and approached our own studio practice A truly inspiring day Robyn Hammond
Medical Futures Conference
On Saturday 5 March a a a a a number of pupils from Malvern College attended the Medical Futures Conference
held virtually on on Teams organised by Concord College Medical Society The conference not only involves informative seminars on on on the application process and how to chose a a a a a a medical school but also allows attendees to to meet with NHS doctors as as well as as university students who are studying medicine One of the the highlights was the the keynote lecture on Psychiatry given by Dr Benji Waterhouse who gave a a a a a detailed explanation of how he decided to become a a a a a a psychiatrist and what the the job involves as as well as as debunking various myths held about the the profession Overall I thoroughly enjoyed all all the lectures and talks at the the conference and I deeply appreciated all the the speakers who were willing to to spend their own time coming to to the the conference and gave all of of us us a a a a a a a lot of of useful and valuable information on on being a a a a a a a medic Shuaichu Pan (Hundred No 7)
