MAKING MALVERNIANS
Stepping Out
Sports Scholar and Year 11 pupil, Charlotte L, has once again excelled on the international dance stage. After winning First Place and ‘Most Outstanding Performance’ for her Jazz Solo in the Bauhinia Cup Dance Championships, Charlotte was selected to represent Hong Kong for the Bauhinia International Dance Grand Prix. Here, Charlotte won the ‘Most Potential’ award for her Jazz Solo as well as Gold Medal and cash prize of USD2,000 for her Jazz and Street Dance group performance.
Meanwhile, Vianna L, also a Sports Scholar, won gold in all three of her solo dances at the International Young Dancers Competition 2024. Despite competing against older dancers, Vianna’s lyrical solo ‘Let it Be’ also earned the highest score of the session! She has been invited to represent Hong Kong at the upcoming Winners Gala and will no doubt excel here too.

Equestrian Excellence
Alexis recently represented Team Hong Kong at the National Youth Dressage Championships 2024 in Jiangsu. Unfortunately for Alexis her horse became lame, but she showed great resilience by competing on a different horse. In overcoming such unexpected difficulties Alexis has gained valuable experience which will come in use in future competitions, as well as performing admirably for both her school and country.

Esmeralad Q is an avid competitor in obstacle races across China with her horse, Apple Jack (AJ). She started to compete after the pandemic in 2022, after only a few years of riding. Esmeralad and AJ have already had several successes, such as a First-Place win in the Hopeway Equestrian competition despite often competing against adults as there are no age restrictions in many of her competitions.
