MAKING MALVERNIANS
Smooth Sailing
Jack is a keen sailor and has been sailing for many years on the estuary in Aberdyfi as a member of Dovey Yacht Club. At the club’s award ceremony for the 2024 season, Jack was awarded no less than four cups, including Young Sailor of the Year (U16) and the impressive WJB Shaw Bowl for his commitment and success with the team this season. Next season, Jack will join the Welsh Development Squad for their Dragon Series!

Year 3 pupil Farida W has been wowing the gymnastics world with her talent in Aerobics. At the recent National Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Egypt, Farida excelled in the U9 category, winning Gold for both her solo and trio-team performances in Aerobics! Future Bath Rugby Star
Graduating this year, Old Malvernian Tom H has joined Premiership Club Bath Rugby as a Scholar on the University of Bath programme. A towering second row lock, Tom was spotted by scouts last year whilst playing for the Midlands U18 Academy. We look forward to seeing him dominate the line-out in the blue, white and black of Bath in the coming years.

Artistic Accolades Strokes of Genius
Year 4 pupil Ema recently participated in the 51st Japanese Calligraphy Competition where she won a superb silver prize. The competition saw Japanese calligraphers of all levels, from all over the world, showcase their creativity and artistic talent whilst utilising skills developed in the classroom. It is wonderful to see Ema’s calligraphy recognised at a national level and in a competition that puts the unique art of Japanese calligraphy on a pedestal.
