Philanthropist Photographer
Year 13 pupil Saina M was recognised as a winner at the Boarding Schools Association Supporting Excellence Awards 2024 in the Khadija Saye Photography Award category. Her winning photographs depict masked girls who lived on the streets of Delhi, but who have since found sanctuary through the Salaam Baalak Trust which supports street children in India. Saina has worked closely with the Salaam Baalak Trust, taking her wonderful photographs and then displaying them at the Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi to raise funds for the charity. She has also continued to take inspirational photos of children who have been helped by the Trust and has made merchandise using her photographs, such as eco-friendly tote bags, which she has then sold and donated the profits to the Trust. Saina’s creative and philanthropic efforts set a wonderful example for younger Malvern students, and we look forward to seeing where her photography career will take her!
