Shelter building has been spontaneous and magnificent Monday’s Treehouse Club and and Thursday’s ‘Woods and and Wild’ activity have allowed the the children to play underneath the the ever-changing canopy The playing happens on swings bridges a a a a spider’s web and in in in trees and is governed entirely by their imaginations ranging from medieval mock battles to to toad rescuing parties Two 12kg fruit presses and a a a a a variety of milling contraptions have been utilised over the last weeks to turn trailer-loads of apples into juice (all collected from the orchard) We are now bottling and and pasteurising on site and and we will be settling bottles of Abberley Apple Juice at the Winter Fair Survival skills mountain biking fishing and chicken keeping all take place on Saturday mornings and have been a a a a a a a a blast Mr Scott has been teaching the children about camouflage evading capture fire lighting campfire cooking and shelter building! Adrenaline fuelled mountain biking just gets better and there is no shortage of tracks to shred a a a great ridgeline traverse from the clocktower three descents into the the the inkpot bowl and a a a a a new trail close to to to the the the old quarry all to to to the the the backdrop of autumn’s spectacular colour palette We are looking forward to spoon carving making soap from horse chestnut leaves tree planting orienteering log stacking taking our keyhole garden beds a a a a a a little further and some apple-related campfire cooking after Half Term Outdoor Education
