 MEMBER REPORT
Outside it was a very large stone pizza oven and seating area, this is where we obtained fresh eggs daily. The yolks were a real bright yellow.
I believe the lady who owned the property had lots of parties of children visiting for learning and to this end there were a variety of chickens wandering around with a number of ducks behind a gate in paddling pool ponds.
These ducks tended to be a little muddy looking because of the ground they were on and getting in and out of the pools but lovely to see. Two geese made sure they were noticed when we went down the yard!!! A peacock wandered around very loudly and it was interesting one evening when he flew up a tree. We hadn’t realized they could fly but then they are a bird. It went in the tree to keep
away from foxes. A couple of pigs were in styes and some kittens which had been born while we were there and which we insisted on cuddling!! Well, the ladies! They even had a miniature pony.
24 May
Early this morning we went on a trip to Volkswagen Classics Commercial Vehicles in Hanover.
This proved to be an adventurous trip as instead of taking all our own vans we opted with others to go in the fire truck with Ulf driving. Others going in different vehicles. The visit was split in to parties and ours was the second.
Off we went. Partly down the motorway we had to pull into the layby as the fan belt had broken - it happens to us all!!! We all got out and went up the bank to wait.
