Uniform and PPE
Your appearance and the way you present yourself, creates the all-important  rst impression of Mainstay Facilities Management Limited. All site sta  who have direct contact with customers must look smart, well-groomed and are required to be neat and tidy in appearance.
You are responsible for laundering the uniform and for ensuring that it is kept in good repair. The uniform must be worn during working hours.
The only visible body piercing acceptable for male and female employees is conventional piercing such as ear lobes or piercing for cultural reasons and hair must be kept clean and tidy.
What is PPE??
ยป Personal Protective Equipment
Equipment that is worn by an employee to prevent injury or illness from hazards in the workplace.
When you arrive for work you should be aware of any known hazards and you should be aware of what PPE is required for your site. This will support you in keeping you from harm during your activities.
Whilst PPE cannot prevent accident happening it can reduce the risk and trauma sustained if appropriate PPE is worn:
1. Inspect your PPE before using it.
2. Replace any worn or torn PPE.
3. Store your PPE correctly so it will be available for the next use. 4. Keep your PPE clean.
5. Inform your supervisor if there is something wrong with your
PPE or you need further protection.
6. Always wear your PPE if the risk assessment states you should
and follow safe working practises.
7. If you do not have the protection required to undertake a task
contact your line manager immediately.
