Economists Study
This term our Lower Sixth A A Level Level Economists have been studying inflation as as well as as looking at at government use of fiscal policy The A A Level Level Economics course encourages students to make links between their textbook theory and economics in in the the the the real world We have therefore been encouraging students to to read around the the subject subject widely by selecting a a a a a a a a different book each month to to showcase how how appliable the the subject subject is to to real word phenomena Our thanks go to to the the Librarian Mrs Collett in in helping promote our Economics book of the the month Economics and Business Higher Education Talks
It was great to see so many Lower Sixth students sign up for Higher Education talks in in Economics and Business as as well as as related degrees as part of Mr Thurlow’s Higher Education event Mrs Angus and Mr Mr Hutsby delivered talks to over 60 pupils with interests in in these subject areas and after the the presentations students asked some insightful questions showing many are well underway with their Higher Education planning and preparation Students heard about courses such as Politics Philosophy and Economics (PPE) and and Land Economy as alternatives to pure Economics degrees whilst other students heard about Travel Aviation and Tourism Management as as as well as as as Entrepreneurship as as as alternatives to a a a a a a Business Management degree Strategies were also provided on on how to boost their future applications through enrichment within school external essay competitions as as well as as wider reading and TED talks they should be accessing I have attached a a a a couple of of of pictures of of of the covers of of of recommended reading lists we provided students with Adam Hutsby | Head of Economics Politics & Business Assistant Head Sixth Form
