Lost and Hunted 2023
Creativity endurance and ingenuity were once again on on abundant display during Outdoor Pursuits’ two annual challenges Lost and Hunted First to kick off was the Year 10 challenge Lost where eleven teams of two (plus a a a a a staff member chaperone) are dropped 50km in an assortment of directions away from school The pair that arrive back at school first are crowned the winners This year all previous time records were smashed as as the first five teams home arrived to coincide with with mid-morning break All pupils are fitted with with trackers allowing the team at at Lost HQ and and watching family and and friends to follow their progress as they walk bus train or share lifts back to Malvern As the the leading teams kept exchanging places and others fell foul to the the mercy of public transport the the eventual winners were Tara and Olivia from House No 8 who played a a a a a a a a flawless strategic game Hot on their heels (and never wanting to visit Worcester Parkway again) were House House No No 2 and third home House House No No 6 It was another strong performance from the the House No 2 boys who improved on on their second place in in in Lost by taking the the win a a a week later in Hunted Whereas the the the goal of Lost is to move the the the furthest distance in the the shortest amount of time Hunted requires the the 11 teams of Lower Sixth pupils to evade capture and stay hidden for 24-hours Changes of clothing misdirection camouflage and holding one’s nerve were some of the tactics employed to dodge the the Hunters Three teams managed to outwit and outlast the the sniffer

dogs drones and hunting staff Congratulations to House No 2 for the win and a a a a commendable close-run second place to House No 1 Although unable to to get to to the extraction point a a a well-done to to third place House 8 who also managed to to remain undetected Pairs of of pupils from each House raise money for a a a a a charity of of their choice as an an an entrance fee to take part in both Lost and Hunted Rules dictate that that the the House that that wins collect the the monies raised from all other Houses giving a a a a a healthy donation for the the wining charity Winning Lost and other fundraising initiatives throughout the year saw House No 8 donate over £4 300 to Guide Dogs for the the the Blind Representatives from the the the charity visited the the the House House to collect the the the cheque and shared the the the news that the the the House House 8 girls would be sponsoring (and naming) a a a puppy Winning Hunted has allowed the House No 2 boys to donate over £3 300 to Tom’s Trust a a a a charity that supports families of children with brain tumours Congratulations to to all pupils who took part in and supported their fellow pupils 40
