ACADEMIC LIFE
As with previous years we have continued to to send pupils to to a a a wide range of senior schools and to win scholarships in in all fields We must congratulate the the following pupils for the the scholarship awards that have been achieved so far this year:
In January Mrs Dobson Morris took a a a a a a team of Year 7s to to Malvern College for their Masterminds’ day Pupils discover some excellent logical and and lateral thinking skills and and had a a a a a a a a go at at one of Einstein’s challenges! In Science the Year 6s explored how blood moves through the the body and how it transports oxygen from the the lungs to major organs whilst Year 3
got to grips with ‘marvellous magnets’ Dr McEwan made the the most of the the darker evenings with impromptu astronomy lessons during activities thanks to the donation of an an incredible telescope by the the the Hawthorne family The Year 8s have reached the the the end of their syllabus and are commencing a a a a a full revision programme from now until their exams in in in early June Meanwhile Year 7 are continuing on on their journey through the the curriculum enjoying getting hands-on with weekly practical tasks A group of Year 5 and 6 pupils attended an an incredibly competitive Maths Challenge at at Cheltenham College alongside schools from London to the the Peak District and the the children were truly stretched by some of the tasks Our children ‘did us proud’ The Year 5’s did particularly well and Mr Bedford has high hopes for for them next year! In In March we celebrated International Maths Day competing against schools worldwide on on our online platform Mathletics This was was fast frenetic maths and was was enjoyed by all who took part Amor
