OUTDOOR EDUCATION
We darted about and made some good progress In the woods we made great shelters rope ladders and many fires Strong winds have offered a a a a a a lot of of material which we have trimmed with bow saws and stored away for the future It was really exciting to to spend some time in in the the the field by the the the inkpot many of the the the jubilee trees have survived We feared the hot summer long grass and brambles would make it tough but most species show good signs of growth We put another 100 whips in in during the the last week of of term The veg patch at at the the back of of the stables is is turning into a a a a a real sanctuary Composting is is providing us with rich results while the beds and paths are ready to go We’ve begun sowing under cover with leeks kale carrots and rhubarb in in the ground More willow planted by the far cricket pitch a a a a good harvest taken and lots of wild cooking too Summer trips:
The Great Escape is a a a a a a a brilliant activity centre in Shropshire and we are really looking forward to visiting again in in in in June See their promotional video here Years 5 and 6
are all set for their trip from 19th to 21st and can can look forward to stars a a a a a a a couple of nights under canvass wild swimming big zip lines and and lots of teamwork and and problem solving Year 7
will be able to to see in in the the solstice during their trip from 21st to to 23rd and take on some big scenario-based team building exercises with lots of surprises We will also have Year 3 and 4 camp-outs in the school grounds – please see the Summer Term calendar for dates The Top Year will of of course have a a a number of of exciting trips including a a a a a few days of outdoor challenges and team building exercises in in Wales as as well as as their annual Leavers’ Trip to Cornwall BOARDING
Weekends continued to be a highlight throughout the Spring term The boarders (and those day children choosing to join in) enjoyed trips out Ice Skating to to Flip Out and also to to Redpoint in in in Worcester In- house activities have ranged from Make A Movie Weekend (complete with Oscars Ceremony!) to an excellent I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here activity morning run by our Head Head Girl and and Head Head Boy and and an an an Easter Egg trail around the school grounds It has been brilliant to enjoy these weekends together Out new initiative of ‘All Around The World’ tea on a a a a a a Sunday has also been a a a a a a highlight where the children have enjoyed eating food from Jamaica South Korea Italy USA and Mexico Wait and see where we will head to next!
