Site Visit
We visited the development marketing suite on 27th September 2018 Whilst the area is under extensive construction we feel
it is important to understand and and experience conceptually
how a a a a a significant regeneration project and encompassing
park gardens will fit into an existing mixed mixed use mixed mixed tenure and business district environment The area has not seen significant large scale residential regeneration since the the completion of the the White City Estate and White City Close off South Africa Road in the 1970s Existing housing offers high density affordable block style homes featured around Westfield London the iconic Television Centre and White City Place As part of the White City Opportunity Area we witnessed significant upgrading of Wood End Road infrastructure to accommodate the transforming neighbourhood to include White City Living Imperial College London and rejuvenation of the the Television Centre which has been opened up to the the public offering entertainment and leisure facilities offices and 1000 new homes During our visit we we were able to view
initial sections of public realm including the decking structure and pedestrian flyover of the the Central Line clearly demonstrating the the White City Park landscape style concept and and vision From a a a neighbouring roof terrace we could gauge the structure of Phase One planned landscape formation and and the TFL owned commercial units including the interface for pedestrian and cycle access linking Westfield via Wood End Hammersmith and City Line arches The vicinity does offer a a a range o of green space to include Hammersmith Park Shepherds Bush Green and various recreational play zones within the residential areas We foresee a a a a more centralised open space would be a a a a welcome addition to the the area and the the new White City Park a a a a fundamental contribution to to to to the district We envisage this area will unite White City and neighbouring communities In discussions about the scheme and amenity offering we we were advised that there are a a a a a high level of overseas investor-owners therefore we would suggest the the development would benefit from a a customer portal app system to to manage customer communications Purchasers have suggested they would like a a a a local convenience occupying one of the onsite retail units as the the nearest supermarket is Waitrose situated to the the rear of Westfield Shopping Mall and Tesco express located at at the BBC media centre 15 minute walk away It was also noted a a a number of the penthouse properties have been purchased with the potential to to convert into single dwellings therefore revised floor plans and review of the the budget would be required during the the mobilisation period to ensure compliance 5
