The Library has a vision and mission statement (https://library.vinuni.edu.vn/about-us/library-vision-
mission-goals/), striving to establish a smart library operating on 4 smart principles: smart collection,
smart user education, smart service and smart technologies. The library also has a strategic plan to set
key priorities and address the information needs of the VinUniversity learning community at all levels
(Appendix 3: Library Strategic Plan AY 21-22).
The VinUniversity Library homepage (https://library.vinuni.edu.vn/) provides access to electronic
resources, including research databases and journal indexes, e-journals, e-books, online reference
resources, electronic data resources, and bibliographic citation management software (Endnote).
Students have access to all resources licensed to the VinUniversity community as well as Internet
resources freely available to anyone. The Library uses an open URL link resolver to enable users to link
directly from research databases to the Library full-text electronic journal subscription or to the library
catalogue record for holdings with call number information. It is also interoperable with Google
Scholar with full-text linking to VinUniversity’s library e-resource holdings with “get it@VinUni”.
The library has provided a quality and balanced collection to support VinUniversity’s teaching, learning,
and research. The library made a strong commitment to maximize the use of OER and open textbooks
to support open access and reduce students’ textbook cost. To foster student’s digital fluency and
bolster student success, the library has conducted a number of workshops on electronic publishing,
research skills, academic integrity, and VR technology training. The library has two studios and a Maker
lab with 3D scanner, VR headset and button maker to support experiential learing and
entrepreneurship. The library has also played a key role in supporting research, helping the university
to track faculty’s research footprint and became the first member of the ORCID community in Vietnam.
The library holdings reflect the priority given to College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS)
noted in the Appendix 4: Library Collection Development Policy. The following tables indicate the
library holdings in library catalogue to support the CS, AI and ITM program.
