Origin magazine was established in 1951 and was published as
integrated components/ issues, organized into sequences. There were
five series that were published by Origin. The first series was
published in 1951- 1956, which included 20 issues. The first ever issue
to be published by Origin, discussed the overall purpose of the
magazine, which was to showcase underrated and unknown poets
who deserved to be recognized while also contributing to the
discipline of contemporary poetry and literature. Olson was a
featured guest on the first issue where some of his work was
highlighted including his famous poems “I, Maximus to Gloucester, to
You” and “In Cold Hell, in Thicket”. The first series also encompassed
