               Title: Important Past Events

                 2.1 Pre writing

2.1.1 Read Rick’s story and rewrite it by using the third person.
Hi, my name is Rick. Yesterday was a terrible day for me because I stayed at
home all day. I wanted to go out but it was raining outside. I was tired of being
inside my house. I tried to play with my little brother, but he was doing his

homework. My father was reading the newspaper and my mother was knitting.
After having lunch I decided to sit by the window. Some people were waiting at
the bus stop. While I was watching the street I saw an accident. A car didn’t stop
at the traffic lights and hit another car. Fortunately nobody was injured. Now I am
waiting for a friend. We will go to the park and play soccer together. I injured my arm while I was playing
soccer last week, but it is ok now. My team needs its goalkeeper!

               2.2 Writing

2.2.1 Write a final draft about a day in your life when things did not go so well. Include sentences
in the Simple Past and Past Continuous. Do not forget to organize your paragraph with topic
sentences and their supporting ideas. Consider appropriate use of punctuation, capitalization,
               and overall accuracy.

                2.3 After Writing

2.3.1 Work in pairs and read your partner’s paragraph. Then answer the questions below.

Language Department English A2 Page 14
