                           Academic Information
      Ask for a
      leave

      Ask for a leave
        Students are required to apply for leave of absence according to the Leave Policy
        if they are unable to attend lectures. Any absence in which leave has not been
        applied or approved shall be regarded as truancy.
      Suspension
         If a student suspension or withdraws from their studies or resume studies,
        the university handles the matter in accordance with the National Kaohsiung
        University of Science and Technology Regulations.

         Students may apply to suspend studies or extend existing suspension from the
        University when necessitated by special circumstances. Suspension of current
        semester's studies must be submitted before official deadline. No late entries
        will be accepted.
         The suspension may be approved from 1 semester up to 2 academic years,
        subject  to  the  University's  approval.  In  general,  the  maximum  length  of
        suspension is 2 academic years.

      Resume Studies
         Upon expiration of the approved period for suspension of studies or retention of
        student status, the student should resume studies immediately.
         An international student who is resuming their studies after a deferral must
        reapply for a resident visa, and within 15 days after arriving in Taiwan they
        must submit all the necessary documents to be issued an Alien Resident
        Certificate (ARC). (See Article 11 of the Enforcement Rules for the Issuance of
        ROC Visas to Foreign-Passport Holders; and Article 22 of the Immigration Act)
      Withdrawn from university
         Students will be withdrawn or expelled from their enrolled programs in any of
