A Message from your Township Clerk
2020 is a big year for elec ons!
March 10, Presiden al Primary • Aug. 4, Primary • Nov. 3, Presiden al
 Poll vo ng
Some people believe that their vote doesn't ma er, but that’s not true. Every elec on is important, and every ballot submi ed is counted. On Elec on Day, voters at the polls have their votes tabulated as they submit their ballots. Candidate and proposal selec ons are tracked throughout the day by the Township’s tabulator machines. When the polls close, the tabulator machine you placed your ballot into totals all the votes, and that informa on is sent electronically to Macomb County.
Polls are open from 7 a.m.to 8 p.m.
Absentee vo ng
While voters are going to the polls, absentee votes are counted throughout the day. The coun ng of absentee ballots begins when the polls open at 7 a.m. and it takes all day, and well into the night, to open and count each vote. It’s a long process handled by elec on workers, who deserve praise and admira on for their commitment to delivering accurate and accountable elec on results. Once the absentee ballots are counted, the results are sent electronically to the county.
Now, every registered voter can vote absentee
With the passing of Proposi on 3 in 2018, every registered voter can now sign up to be placed on the Permanent Absentee Voter list. There are bene ts to vo ng an absentee ballot:
