Scholarship entries must be submi ed by May 1, and are limited to Clinton Township residents who are high school seniors. Employees of the Township and their immediate family are ineligible to receive a scholarship. Applicants must complete 30 or more hours of documented, quali ed community service during their junior/senioryearofhighschool,haveacumula veGPA of 3.0 or above, and plan to enroll in a full- me undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university, trade, or voca onal school.
Perhaps one of the more challenging requirements for an applicant is the personal expression assignment, in the form of a wri en essay, video, or another crea ve format, demonstra ng how they have lived with passion intheirpastandpurposetowardtheirfuture.
“We’re kind of under the radar when compared to the big scholarship opportuni es that are out there,” said Travis. “Large companies, who are well-known, get thousands of applicants, but the odds of winning with a smalleren tylikeoursaresomuchgreater.Butforusto be able to support people in our community this way is just fantas c.”
Travis says the scholarship fund supporters love the ability to help raise one of their community members to become a poten al future leader. “To have that kind of involvement really strikes a chord with our seniors,” she said.

Clinton Township takes delivery of a new SMART bus New Year, new bus!
In the New Year, a new 2019 Champion SMART bus will be servicing Clinton Township senior ci zens and residents who are disabled. The $64,000, 13-passenger bus arrives as replacement for one of the aging SMART buses. The new vehicle runs on regular gasoline.

Buses are dispatched from the Senior Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 586-286-9476 for rider informa on.
Service runs within Clinton Township, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
