Join Brian Peterson, from Bees in the D, as he shares his passion about the education and conservation of the all-important pollinator, the honey bee. He will share his journey into the world of beekeeping, explaining common misconceptions, and the fascinating life of the honey bee. Workshop participants will learn the basics of beekeeping, tools needed, have the opportunity to visit active hives and collect and taste the honey. Join us to find out what all the buzz is about with beekeeping!
FEE: $80. Includes lunch.
Pre-registration required with signed waiver for participation.
Wear comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes or boots and bring a water bottle.
Registration limit: 15 participants.

It’s high time to create a plastic bag free world! International Plastic Bag Free Day is a unique opportunity to spread the word that a plastic bag-free world is possible and that sound environmental alternatives to single-use plastic bags are available. Join us for a class on how to turn your old t-shirts into reusable grocery bags. Please bring a t-shirt, extras will be on hand.

Saving our Monarchs – What Can You Do?
Join us for a short presentation on this beautiful black and orange butterfly, followed by a hike to Milliken State Park to conduct a Monarch larva survey. Find out how you can help these important pollinators in your own backyard. Survey results will be submitted to the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project.
