FRIDAY, AUGUST 10 1:00 P.M. National S'mores Day
Anyone who likes sitting by a campfire knows that s’mores are a critical part of any good outdoor Michigan evening. But did you know there are less traditional ways to have s’mores? Stop by today to try out some new s’more recipes to see which version will make it to your next outdoor adventure.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 12 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. Origami Day
Come develop your origami skills with us at our Origami Wildlife Craft Workshop as we go through folding steps at a fun and easy-to-follow pace. Learn how to make a traditional paper crane in addition to creating origami versions of our favorite local wildlife, such as the grey wolf, red fox, bullfrog, and black bear. This educational craft is fun for all ages, and origami is a great skill to pick up for passing the time.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 26 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. WALK AT 2:00 P.M. Dog Days of Summer
Come to the OAC for a day of outdoor fun with your furry best friend! We'll have dog- friendly activities set up, including a guided walk along the Dequindre Cut, "doggie pools," and lots of tennis balls and frisbees! Canine to Five will offer complimentary nail trimmings, and Detroit Dog Rescue will be on hand with information to help you find your next best friend! Friendly dogs with current vaccinations and licenses are welcome. Plus, visit our Facebook page to enter our dog-owner photo contest! Oh, and please remember to BYOPB (Bring Your Own Poop Bag)!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 30 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. National Marshmallow Toasting Day
Most people have fond memories of childhood, sitting by a roaring campfire toasting marshmallows on wooden sticks... Yum! Toasted Marshmallow Day is a chance to re-live those memories, and for people who've never experienced toasting marshmallows, to find out what all the fuss is about with a toasted marshmallow treat and recipes to take home.
