What do you know about the ancient lake sturgeon that graces the Detroit River? What about the flocks and flocks of birds passing by on their way north? Here is your chance to learn about these amazing animals and have some fun too! Join the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, United States Geological Survey, Michigan Sea Grant, and the OAC for family-friendly activities related to Sturgeon and bird migration.
FEE: This free program is located at Milliken State Park.

Finding and Rearing Michigan Giant Silk Moths
Presentation by Jim and Carol McGrath of Native Discovery
Some of our continent's largest, most impressive moths can be found right here in Michigan, yet many people can go years without encountering one. Join us for a fascinating look at these beautiful night creatures and learn how you can find them and care for the caterpillars in your home. A limited number of these caterpillars will be available for guests to take home and raise as a fun, educational family activity. Great for the budding scientist of any age!

Did you know Michigan is home to 18 species of snakes? Come by the OAC to celebrate World Snake Day and learn a bit about our state's native snakes. You'll also get a chance to learn about and meet Michigan's largest species of snake, our gray rat snake.

Join the Leslie Science and Nature Center as they share the fascinating characteristics behind Michigan’s birds of prey and why these predators play such an important role in our ecosystem. You will even have the opportunity to meet a few of these species up close!
