World Wetlands Day
Did you know that the Outdoor Adventure Center and surrounding area was wetland habitat years ago? Learn about the importance of wetlands and get a sneak peek at some wildlife you are likely to see if you visit a wetland in southeast Michigan! We’ll also give you some recommendations of our favorite wetlands to visit this spring.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23 2:00 – 3:30 P.M. Bats and Engineers: A History of Fascination and Design
Bats are fascinating creatures humans continue to study to grow an understanding of their complex world. Their existence has inspired many great minds such as Leonardo Da Vinci, who created inspiring flying machine designs; and Lazzaro Spallanzani, who pioneered our understanding of echolocation. Engineers today now team up with biologists to find innovative ways to stop the spread of white nose syndrome. Stop by this education table to learn more about bat biology, the creations bats have inspired, and how you can help protect Michigan bats.
