SATURDAY, MARCH 23 2:00 – 3:30 P.M. Pollinators Unite!
In celebration of National Plant a Flower Day, we are offering the chance to plant and take home a flower to nurture for the pollinators in your neighborhood. Learn about birds, bees and other pollinators and why they are so important to plant life and even to our own survival. Help them get the job done by taking home a packet of seeds to plant this spring.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23 12:00 – 1:30 P.M. March Mascot Madness
Are you a huge fan of college basketball? Have you ever wondered the origin of team mascots? If so, then join us in celebration of March Madness in Detroit by delving into the history of different schools’ mascots and their animal counterparts in Michigan. We’ll include paper stamping, crafts, and interactive displays of animal pelts.

SATURDAY, APRIL 6 2:00 – 3:30 P.M. Michigan’s Mink
Found across the Great Lakes region, the mink lives a semi-aquatic life. With partially webbed toes, the mink is an excellent swimmer diving up to 15 feet underwater. Join us at the OAC to learn more interesting facts about the mink, while you examine a mink skull, prints and pelt.

SUNDAY, APRIL 7 1:00 – 2:30 P.M. International Beaver Day
Join us as we celebrate our wonderful, water-dwelling beavers! Learn about how they earned their nickname as “nature’s engineers,” their habitat, and their important role in the fur trade.
