OAC Outdoors: Wonderful Winter
Join us outside at the OAC for a fun winter activity. From ice fishing and snowshoeing to snow pictionary and sledding; these are all activities that can be enjoyed right outside our front door and across the state. Our activities will be weather and condition-dependent. Check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information. Throw your winter gear in the car, just in case!
FEE: Included with the price of admission.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 20. 12:00 MLK Day of Service
Martin Luther King Jr. observed, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?” Join us, along with individuals around the country, to take "a day on, not a day off.” We will spend time outdoors cleaning up litter and debris that has settled around the OAC, along the Dequindre Cut, and within the Milliken State Park area.
Participants will earn a commemorative 2019 OAC service patch.
Throughout the week, we will show a video honoring Martin Luther King, Jr

OAC Outdoors: Michigan Free Fishing Weekend
Take advantage of this opportunity to fish Michigan’s premiere waters! We will learn about proper ice fishing equipment and safety practices. We’ll also provide the equipment and guidance for you to try some ice fishing at Milliken State Park.
We recommend joining the fun at the start time. We may not be able to accommodate those who arrive more than 15 minutes into the activity.
Ice conditions permitting.
Dress appropriately to ensure an enjoyable time.
