Table 3.2 shows a profile of the participants and facilitators who volunteered to discuss
their dialogue experience.
In the brief time I had before the CC sessions started, I did not know at first who the
facilitators were so I walked around and made quick table introductions to the attendees seated and
asked for prospective interview volunteers with a two-sided, written description about me and my
dissertation research. The description also included the promise of confidentiality and a request
that individuals contact me, using email and phone contact information, to find out more about the
research interviews and how they could participate in the data-gathering phase of the research.
Prior to each interview, the volunteer received my business card and survey(s), which they
filled out and returned to me at the session or scanned and emailed (one person faxed to ITT). I
had participants volunteered from each one of the three active dialogues for individual interviews
that had ranged from about 45 to 90 minutes average each (gauged by time length of answers).
