• Little funds to work with- the major source of income is through donations and little funds are available from the start.
• Low pay- these sporting structures don’t reward employees as much as they would be rewarded as if they were working for a profit organization. (Adhikari, 2020)
Advantages of a Profit Sports Structure
• Income- the most obvious advantage for this sports structure is the possibility of making money. Revenue is easily generated above and beyond expenses and that is up to the owner of the sports structure to decide what he will do with the money.
• Ownership- this advantage rewards the owners for their respective organization as it allows them to be their own bosses. They are very independent, and the business runs according to how they want it too, without external resources.
Disadvantages of a Profit Sports Structure
• Taxes- these sports organizations must pay taxes.
• The ability to receive grants is limited and there is little support from smaller
profitable companies around the world
We know that sport plays a massive role worldwide as it unites people of different backgrounds and communities. It can change how people see each other and this can only do good for them and the rest of the world. Many sports organizations are created worldwide and these structures combine a passion for sports with community outreach and
personal development. These various sports structures may use sport to support a cause or to reach out to groups that are typically unable to participate in various different sporting codes. There are a huge number of non-profit and profit sports organizations around the world and it is important to understand the comparison between the two structures.
