Introduction

1. Short Description

Narrative text is a text that are focusing on the specific participants. In this

teaching material will be discussed about narrative text for 9 Grade Middle School.
In making a narrative text, things that need to be considered are the generic structure
of a narrative text, then the language features of the narrative text itself. The generic

structure of a narrative text is orientation, complication and resolution. Which each
part of the generic structure will be explained further in the core material of this

teaching material. Apart from the generic structure, another thing that is very

important to consider when creating a narrative text is the language feature of a
narrative text. There are several language features of a narrative text, namely the

use of specific nouns, the use of adjectives, the use of time connectives, the use of

adverbs, and most importantly, the use of past tense. For more details, the language
features of a narrative text will be presented more fully in the core material of this

teaching material.

This teaching material contains material about narrative text for 9 Grade
Middle School. In English, when creating any type of text, there are several
important things to note. Likewise, when making a narrative text, there are several

important things that must be considered by students, so that the narrative text is in
accordance with the context of national usage, linguistic structure, and linguistic

functions that apply in English. After learning about what is meant by narrative text,
the generic structure of a narrative text, and the language features of narrative text,

students are expected to be able to understand and understand the importance of

paying attention to the things previously mentioned in making a narrative text.
