1. Definition

Narrative text is a text focusing specific participants. Its social function is to tell
stories, entertain the readers and show moral values indirectly. There are many kinds

of narrative or story such as fairy tales, folk tales, legend, myth, and etc., (Hardjo,

T.B., et.al., 2021).
2. Generic Structure

Generic structures which construct narrative text are as follow:
a. Orientation : The introduction part which consists of what is in the

text in general.

b. Complication : The part which explores the conflict among the
characters. This part contains the essential content of a

narrative text.
c. Resolution : The part when the conflict tends to be decreased and

ended. This part is the part when the characters get the

solution of their conflicts. Then finally the conflict
ended as the story ends, (Wachidah, S., et.al., 2018).
