SEIZING


  For the following method, it’s possible to use small string (also used for whipping). The
  following diagrams show larger rope for purposes of clarity.



  STEP 1 Make a Constrictor Knot (see Chapter 6) around both ropes, leaving one end
  of the string long enough to make the seizing. Make many wraps for a distance of at
  least two rope diameters.




















  STEP 2 When the last wrap is made, tuck the string between the ropes and proceed to

  make exactly two frapping turns.


















  STEP 3 After exactly two frapping turns, make these tucks and then pull them down
  between the ropes.

















     Tighten the seizing by pulling the running end down between the ropes, until the last
  tucks you have made are tightly wedged between the ropes.
