clear forests and convert the land for agricultural use would be mitigated if there were

less pressure to cut down trees. Using only phosphate chemical fertilisers or other
heavy materials, followed by organic fertilisers for annual periodic land maintenance,

has been shown to increase and maintain the productivity of soils with a high level of
acidity. Particularly in developing countries, fertilizing has a great deal of untapped

potential to boost food production. Last but not least, organic fertilizer, when combined
with other additions, can make a considerable impact on soil capital preservation, cli-

mate change mitigation, environmental protection, and future food security.
