US ARMY - TRAINING WITH INDUSTRY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The partnership with the United States Army afforded the Training with Industry Fellowship to continue for the fifth consecutive year. This program has provided military leadership with public safety experience from a corporate perspective and served as a staff multiplier for the organization.
Major Dominic DeFrancisco was the Industry Fellow for 2017-2018. He was replaced by Captain Charles Mims in July 2018. Each year a new army industry fellow is assigned to work with CALEA.
INTRODUCTION OF MEXICO REVIEW COMMITTEE DELEGATION
In 2018, the Commission endorsed the appointment of subject matter experts to support the review of candidate agencies for accreditation. This concept was specifically designed to improve the review of agencies from Mexico seeking CALEA Accreditation.
CALEA MEXICO MEETING
In November, INL sponsored the first CALEA Mexico Meeting in Mexico City. The event provided opportunities for current and prospective clients to learn about the process of accreditation and complemented the current initiative to support the further
advancement of accreditation throughout this region. During the meeting six Mexican agencies received CALEA Accreditation. The support of INL and the PF resulted in a well-attended meeting and several Mexican agencies committed to CALEA enrollment.
