Rotarians at ANITKABİR

As the 2420, 2430 and 2440 Districts Rotary Family and led by our Term Governor Kemal Ketrez and dear Burcu,
we paid an official visit to our ATATÜRK. We commemorated MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK and all our martyrs and
war veterans, missing and commemorating them with respect and gratitude.

The program was organized by Ankara Beysukent Rotary Club and we would like to share the text prepared by the
Term President of Ankara Beysukent Rotary Club, Aycan Taş, acting as the spokesman expressing the feelings of
       all the Rotarians.

       FROM TRADITION TO FUTURE...

A new term, a new start, new hopes again, but a brand new day of July. A group of people gathered under a glowing
sun that is ready to brighten the coming days. Their aims, hopes and attires are same for all. A brightness in their

smiling eyes that makes the sun jealous, hope rather than brightness, excitement and belief."Ata" is ahead of them,
and immediately after is the Capital of the Republic, enlightened by this belief and the sun.

As it is every year, our story of this year also started with the Aslanlı Yol. Rotarians from all over Turkey, we walked
on the hewn stone road towards our Atatürk to repeat once again the permanent promise repeatedly made.

More than 400 Rotarians from the Districts of 2420, 2430 and 2440 gathered today, as we did in the past, believing
and hoping to “serve to change lives”. After laying the red and white wreath to the mausoleum, we had a moment of
silence to commemorate Atatürk, the founder of our Republic as well as those who shed blood, lost their lives or
contributed to pave the way for freedom of this country. Ahead of us was the road enlightened by the revolutions, on
our shoulders was the pleasant weight of the responsibility for the promise made, at our ears the scream of every
individual and soul who needs us. This is because we are aware that our work is not only for mankind but also for
each and every part of this universe we walk on. It is likely to be a seed and fall onto the earth as well as to be a
medicine and heal. We sometimes are the paint on a school's wall far from the eyes yet close to our heart while
being the hope of Ayşe who is waiting for a wheelchair to see the sun. We sometimes are a young tree waving by the
wind on a barren land and other times are the light in the eyes of a young person making a startup in new
       environments.

The three District Governors signed the special book at the Tower of National Oath with these feelings and
thoughts. Doubtless to say that at the end of the day, without any shade of doubt, we all returned home with the
       below lines in our minds:

“We do not forget that you have changed our nation's fate as well as the flow of history, marked an era with your high
qualifications and thoughts while also going beyond the age and becoming a universal identity.

We have adopted the principle of peace, following a leader who has won the respect and affection of the world
having strengthened and encouraged humanity to build a peaceful world to live on.”

While walking with safe steps behind a leader having stated “Peace in the country, peace in world”, we are aware of
the importance of each life we will be changing by our services, each effort we will be spending for better tomorrows
and a better livable environment. This is because we know that great achievements start with small steps.
Therefore, we will not give up, will not feel indolent and will not postpone...
