Living Wall
The challenge in the design
was that the HVAC registers
were initially placed above
and below the plant panels
which would be problematic
in terms of the impact on
the plant species. We worked
closely with the architect
and engineers as they
reformulated the HVAC unit
as a linear diffuser (see left
of panels in the drawing)
which would be aligned with
the top and bottom of each
vertical plant panel.
Consolidating and relocating
the unit proved to be the
perfect solution to allow
the living wall design to
be completed as planned.

This Triptych living wall design In our collaboration with the project
incorporatesd three narrow plant architectural team, we all agreed that
panels recessed into a customized 3 vertical thin plant panels would
focal wall aligned with the sustainable be the best solution to create the
theme in a newly constructed Science visual interest desired while keeping
& Visual Arts building at a private, coed with the allotted budget taking into
college preparatory high school. consideration the plant maintenance
costs moving forward.
