            By Cheng Hei Chun

Honored, is the only word I can pick to describe my first USFHK representing PolyU Water Polo
Team. Unlimited support is what I can feel in the team. Firstly, the support from Dr. David Mong, he
donated scholarships for water polo athletes in PolyU. And our team advisor invited physiotherapist
to look after us for the whole tournament to prevent any injuries and helped with acute recovery.
Moreover, team manager organised a team training camp during pre-season of USFHK while our
team coach commanded us during the training and the tournament. I truly impressed by this huge
support surrounding me and felt amused when I joined the team.

In the pre-season, our team travelled to Singapore for an intensive training camp which provided
a chance for the new teammates to fit into the team and have enhanced the team cohesion.
Resultantly, the camp provided an opportunity for the new members and the senior teammates
to interact. It was effective and we have become closer with one another. Adding to the team
cohesiveness, we were disciplined in class to work out coach’s advise which led our team resulted
in 1st Runner-up in the Panasonic USFHK Men’s Water Polo Championship this year. It was a
great improvement from last year’s 6th place. Appreciation to all my team managers, coaches and
teammates, we could not have made such a great improvement if anyone is missing. I can promise
you that we will strive for the champion and I hope to share the glory with all of you soon.

All in all, I am gratitude to integrate with the PolyU Water Polo Team fellows.
