Farmer: (angry and shouting) Go away! Just go away!

                All the crows flew away.

The farmer made a scarecrow and placed it in the middle of the field.

Farmer: (with confidence) Now these crows will not eat grains from my farm.

The next day, while hovering over the farm, the crows saw a man standing in the

middle of the farm. They didn’t land on the fields thinking that they will be chased
away by this man. Tolu was a brave crow. He was flying a little close to the ground
so he could figure out that it wasn’t a man but a scarecrow.

Tolu: (making a face) Look! This farmer has built an ugly looking scarecrow
                              for us. It’s quite scary!

Nedo: (with attitude) Ha! I am not scared of such scarecrows. I have seen

many before. We will destroy this scarecrow and relish the grains.

All the crows gathered, started picking up the straws and tearing the clothes of the
scarecrow with their beaks. They then attacked the crops.

The farmer who had gone for lunch rushed back to shoo the crows away.

Farmer: You crows are back? Just go away! Fly away!

The crows flew away. This continued for a few days. The crows would attack the
farm and the farmer would pelt stones at them. One of them even got injured and

had to stay home for three days with a bandage around his leg.

Finally one day, Tolu the crow, who was the wisest of them all, decided to make
peace between the crows and the farmer.

He called all the crows and the farmer to the farm. The farmer brought his farmer

                friends along to the meeting.

Tolu: (to the farmers in a polite voice) We should not fight like this every day.
We are hurting each other in this way.

Farmer: These are my grains. I don’t like birds eating my grains without my

permission. They also make my farm dirty.

Tolu: (explaining) But we don’t damage your farm or grains. We just eat some

grains only when we are hungry.
