UP AND AWARE - 6

People are similar and different. For example, you may like to eat cheese just like your
mother does but you may not like eating green chillies even though she does. Or, like all
the learners in your school wear the same uniform but they are all different people. If other

people like the same things you do or dislike things that you don’t, it does not make them
good or bad. It just makes them like you, or unlike you!

Have a good laugh!

Have you ever laughed at someone or been laughed at? Most people have. Laughter is said
to be the best medicine. It is good for you and your health. Let us read the joke below:

Think About and Discuss:

Situation 1: You walk into your classroom one morning and find a new learner in your
class. Your friends and you decide to make fun of him/her. What are some of the things
you would say or do or names that you would call him/her or say to his/her face? Share
with the class. You will understand the relevance of this activity when you reach page 20.
